Rattlesnake Island Local Post has begun work on the new 2024 issue.
And the theme this year is . . . . Drum roll please . . . .
“Island Aviation Through the Decades” . . . . The 3 stamp designs will be:
The Ford Tri-motor (of course) represents the 60’s & 70’s.
The DeHavilland Beaver represents the 70’s & 80’s.
The Piper Archer represents a current plane in use.
There will also be a secondary theme in the background consisting of
weather or planetary items. (hint for the Piper – 4-8-24)
The new designs will be unveiled at the Great American Stamp Show (GASS)
in Hartford, CT. this August. And the first day of issue will be in Sept. Plans are
in the works to have a “First Day of Issue” ceremony at the Liberty Aviation
Museum in Port Clinton. (Next to the airport) More Blogs to follow on the
details of this possible ceremony.
