Rattlesnake Island Local Post will be releasing the latest beautiful stamps featuring the 60th Anniversary of RILP on August 27th, 2026. The stamps were once again designed by Beth Gregerson. The USPS had graciously allowed us to use the stage at the International Stamp Expo - Boston 2026 on May 27th, 2026. Thank you to all that attended the unveiling ceremony. The actual “first day of issue” will be on August 27th, 2026. Once again it will be on Rattlesnake Island, however since it is a private island, only RIC members and guests can visit the island.
However, there will be a "first day ceremony" held at the Liberty Aviation Museum at 2:00pm on Aug. 27th, 2026 in the front airport hanger. The hanger which houses the current flying 1928 Ford Tri-Motor should accommodate 250 people and the Tin Goose will be giving tour flights for a fee.
More information on the event as well as pre-ordering information to come later this month.
New for Rattlesnake Island Local Post this anniversary year will be the 4th stamp in the issue. It follows the tradition of the 20 & 40 year anniversary stamps featuring a $2.00 Tri-Motor stamp.

This years stamps are quite different from any previous year: we took some ideas from the first issue (including the single color format), then added ornate designs to draw from the classic stamp style, thus achieving a unique appearance. Each year is becoming more difficult to out-do the previous issues. However, Boston Show attendees confirmed Beth and I pulled it off one more time.
Thank you for your interest in USA’s only operating airmail local post.
